The Sound of Miles Davis

I so love this.

This first aired on CBS in July of 1960. The program was called The Robert Herridge Theater.

Can you imagine a half hour of nationally broadcast television devoted to one man and his music in this day and time. Thank God for public television. There you can still find priceless events like this.

What you won't see today is the musicians standing around smoking and chatting while someone takes a solo.

Especially when two of those someones are Miles Davis and John Coltrane for God's sake.

Enjoy this. You may never see the likes of it again.
